And I am finally done!
In true Kimb style, I last-minuted my advertising report (actually handed it in late), but managed to complete my photography major assignment and the subject itself in an acceptable way. Last Monday was the final uni day. My photography tutor is a man of walking awkwardness, albeit sweet. He gushed and analysed my photos in a very in-depth way. Yes...I had every intention of that crease on the dress being there...
I was technically meant to be done last week but have been putting off an article I had to write to get marked off officially. It took me a WEEK to finally kick myself up in the ass and get it completed. Now I'm properly finished! Hopefully, I do pass everything and this means the end to sixteen years of institutional education. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? 16 BLOODY YEARS!
Set assignment theme: Tableaux photography - the act of being able to tell/capture a story in one frame/shot. Can be achieved so through symbolism and deliberate set-ups, actors and scenery.
My theme: Waiting - the act of waiting (remaining inactive in one place while expecting something)
To portray an absence - an identity beyond the realms of these photographs. The story is about what is missing, what is lacking. A subdued colour palette was used since waiting isn't necessarily a dandy thing. I tried to maintain an element of melancholy and a vintage feel through the costume, props and setting.
